Preparing for the Trail/
Trail Obstacle
Prepare your horse for the trail by building their confidence in you and your confidence in them! Address challenges such as controlling the life and energy of your horse, getting your horse to wait, cross water, navigate bridges, be comfortable in trees and around bushes, tarps, slickers, zipper/velcro, saddle bags, water bottles, and hobbles. Bring your list. We will help you find the tools to help support your horse on the trail! Most of our time will be spent in the arena “preparing” for the trail with a short ride out for those that feel ready at the end of the day.
Clinics limited to 10 riders.
Clinic format will vary depending on horses, riders, and hosts.
Not sure if you and your horse are ready?

What does preparing for the trail riding season look like to you? Trail riding takes a nice, quiet, good-minded horse that is comfortable taking you out of an arena to face the challenges a trail ride can bring! We can help prepare you and your horse to do just that with confidence building horsemanship exercises and trail obstacles. We could do lots of things to check your horse out, but make a list, specific to you and your horse, that we can work on together. We will spend time in the arena and obstacle area preparing for the trail and take an actual trail ride out, if you’re comfortable, here at Singing Dog Ranch.
